We are looking for a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and maintain SQL Server databases hosted on RDS and EC2 instances. The candidate should have extensive experience in database architecture, cloud-native database solutions, performance tuning, and implementing best practices for availability, scalability, and security. This role requires technical expertise and collaboration with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure our data infrastructure meets business needs and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases on AWS RDS and EC2 instances.
• Optimize database performance, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
• Automate database deployments, backups, and monitoring using AWS services and DevOps tools.
• Manage and monitor database security, access control, and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, data analytics, and reporting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Lead database migration and modernization projects, including on-premises to AWS cloud transitions.
• Define and implement database best practices, governance, and documentation standards.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior DBAs and database engineers.
  
  

Skills and Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Proven experience working with AWS services, including RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation.
• Strong PowerShell and T-SQL scripting skills.
• Expertise in query performance tuning.
• Expertise in database backup, recovery, replication, and high availability (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines using AWS Code Pipeline or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of network configurations, security groups, and cross-account connectivity in AWS.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (Git), and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Database Specialty are a plus.
