YOUR TASKS:

• You will build up the forge's data intelligence department (including the AI ​​lab) together with the forge's head.
• You will head the Data Intelligence department and provide technical guidance to the department's five employees.
• In coordination with the head of the forge, you will develop the data and software core architecture as well as the corresponding development processes and tools in the area of ​​data intelligence.
• As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to continually design new applications as MVPs together with our customers, product owners and architects.
• Work with us in the Scrum team and develop data-driven applications and models with Python, R and C#, in the area of ​​ML and classical algorithms.
• Testing and documentation of applications and models are just as much a part of the program as the maintenance, optimization and support of existing applications.
• You ensure that the front-end and back-end as well as our IoT components work together smoothly and that interoperability is guaranteed.
• Together with the POs, you ensure high utilization of your team and high added value for the Bundeswehr.
• Occasional travel and the opportunity to work at customer sites offer you additional variety.

YOUR PROFILE:

• You have a completed master's degree in IT combined with ten years of relevant professional experience
• Your heart beats for data engineering and you already have at least ten years of experience in software development, data analysis and machine learning as well as the technical management of engineering teams.
• Software and data architectures have been with you for years.
• You know and observe the market and are familiar with usable algorithms and models.
• White papers are like the morning newspaper to you.
• You are a recognized expert in the field of data crunching and are proficient in Python, NumPy, Pandas, and dply.
• You find it easy to uncover treasures in data and you know almost every functionality in frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch and caret by heart.
• Your deep ML skills allow you to decide when to develop models yourself with your team, use third-party models, or extend them.
• You are a creative mind, put your ideas into practice and enjoy working in a team.
• You are open to constructive criticism and have a strong hands-on mentality.
• You are familiar with agile development processes and methodologies such as Scrum and feel comfortable in this environment.
• Fluent German and good English skills complete your profile.
