The Team – your impact
The domain Cloud Native SW Engineering Platforms – Automation Factory consists of several product teams building advanced cloud-native software engineering platforms and automation solutions. You will join a dedicated platform engineering team focused on developing and operating our internal GitOps-based cloud-native platform. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the platform’s success, scalability, and adoption across E.ON’s diverse product landscape.
Together with your colleagues, you will enable standardized, automated cloud-native capabilities, empowering software engineers to deliver solutions faster and with greater reliability.

The Team – your impact
The domain Cloud Native SW Engineering Platforms – Automation Factory consists of several product teams building advanced cloud-native software engineering platforms and automation solutions. You will join a dedicated platform engineering team focused on developing and operating our internal GitOps-based cloud-native platform. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the platform’s success, scalability, and adoption across E.ON’s diverse product landscape.
Together with your colleagues, you will enable standardized, automated cloud-native capabilities, empowering software engineers to deliver solutions faster and with greater reliability.
Your Role – meaningful & rewarding
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software components for our cloud-native GitOps platform, primarily using Kubernetes, Crossplane, and Golang
- Perform comprehensive code reviews, providing detailed feedback to continuously enhance the quality and maintainability of our solutions
- Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams, guiding the optimal use and implementation of Kubernetes, Crossplane, and GitOps methodologies
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, fostering engineering excellence and best practices across software engineering, automation, and infrastructure provisioning
- Proactively identify areas of improvement, drive innovation, and contribute to architectural decisions ensuring platform sustainability and performance
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate and introduce new technologies to continuously enhance the platform capabilities
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
- Significant experience as a Software Engineer or Technical Consultant with deep practical expertise in software development and modern software engineering practices
- Expert-level proficiency in Golang or comparable programming languages
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Crossplane, and related cloud-native automation technologies
- Practical knowledge of GitOps practices and related tools (such as ArgoCD)
- Solid understanding of major cloud providers (preferably Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and guidance
- A collaborative mindset, passionate about continuous learning and sharing knowledge within a team-oriented environment
