As AMT Product Owner within CAO Trading and Customer Solutions, you will own the IT products and services supporting algorithmic energy trading and automated decision-making across RWE’s trading and asset portfolio. Working closely with business stakeholders and software engineers, you will translate business priorities into secure, reliable and scalable solutions.

About The Role

• Own the Automated Trading IT roadmap and backlog, aligning delivery with business priorities and the agreed product vision.
• Prioritise work transparently, balancing business value, urgency, risk, cost and technical dependencies.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria, accepting delivered work where required.
• Act as the main contact for business and technology stakeholders, explaining trade-offs and making timely decisions.
• Collaborate with other Product Owners to simplify processes, avoid duplication and adopt shared solutions.
• Guide delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning and sprint reviews.
• Balance new capabilities with security, resilience, performance and sustainable product operation.
  
  

Job Requirements And Experience

• Previous hands-on professional software development experience, enabling credible discussions on architecture, APIs, data, testing, code quality, CI/CD and technical debt.
• Strong understanding of product ownership, agile methodologies and collaboration within and across squads.
• Ability to prioritise competing demands, challenge low-value work and communicate decisions clearly.
• Ability to understand complex business processes, application landscapes and dependencies, translating them into actionable product increments.
• Knowledge of cloud security, identity and access management, monitoring, alerting and resilient production operations.
• Strong communication skills, making complex business and technical topics accessible to different audiences.
• A collaborative approach that supports constructive challenge and an inclusive, motivated team.
• Good written and spoken English and German.
  
  

Advantageous, But Not Essential

• Experience in energy trading, commercial optimisation, renewable energy or asset management.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure DevOps, Python, Databricks, Dremio, GitHub Copilot or comparable technologies.
• Experience integrating AI into processes, workflows and product delivery, alongside an interest in emerging tools.
